The Deaf Festival is a celebration of the Deaf community’s language, culture, heritage and achievements. The festival is an excellent opportunity for young deaf people to look up to deaf role models. It gives deaf people an opportunity to showcase their skills, businesses, crafts and art. The booth holders varies from deaf recreation groups, sport clubs, deaf organisations, deaf-owned businesses and service providers for deaf people. Adult activities, mini-presentations by businesses, workshops, and children’s activities are offered at Deaf festival.
The Deaf Festival is deaf-led event organised by DCCQ. Anyone who uses Auslan can apply to become volunteers at the Deaf Festival.
